Music

You can play songs continuously; however, a Wi-Fi or mobile network connection is required for continuous online playback.

To continuously play songs in a playlist, go to Queue Setting and select Play the entire queue.

Note: Generally, songs will not play continuously if Play only the selected song is selected. If Auto play is enabled from Queue Setting, after music in My songs finish playing, recommended music will continue to play.

To choose a song to be played next, tap "..." next to a song > Play next. The song will be added to your queue and start playing after the song you're currently listening to ends.

If Play only the selected song is set under How to play when a song is tapped in your Queue Setting, the selected song will be added to My songs and will play after the song you're currently listening to ends.

You can configure the queue your songs are played in by going to Playback settings > Queue Setting. For more details, see the following Help article.

If you're using a version of LINE MUSIC earlier than 6.6.0, the song will be added to your Songs or Playlist queue and start playing after the song you're currently listening to ends.

Music recommended to you will continue to play after the last song in a playlist finishes when you enable auto play. You can use auto play with all playlists.

If songs are being played with auto play enabled, the auto play (∞) icon will appear above the music note icon at the bottom right of the player screen.

To configure auto play from Settings:

1. Tap Library > Settings.

2. Tap Playback settings > Queue Setting.

3. Under Others, turn Auto play ON or OFF.

To configure auto play from a playlist:

1. Tap the music note icon at the bottom right of the player screen.

2. At the bottom of the queue that appears, turn Auto play ON or OFF.

Note:

- Auto play cannot be used with songs playing on repeat or on a station.

- Swipe left on a song that plays with auto play to delete it from a queue.

You can reorder or delete the songs in your queue. You can also save songs or add them to playlists.

To reorder a song in your queue:

Tap and hold the icon next to the song, then drag it to where you want it.

Note: The order of songs in your queue will be random when you use shuffle mode. Your queue will return to how it was before when shuffle mode is ended.

To sort your queue by category:

Tap Custom at the top right of the song queue screen and select the category you want to sort by.

Note: You cannot use this feature with shuffle turned on.

To delete a song from your queue:

Put a check next to the song and tap Delete from the menu at the bottom of the screen.

To save a song or add it to a playlist:

Put a check next to the song, then tap Download or Add from the menu at the bottom of the screen.

When you tap a song in an album or playlist, it's added to a queue.

To change the queue your songs are added to:

1. Tap Library > Settings.

2. Tap Playback settings > Queue Setting.

3. Under How to play when a song is tapped, choose Play the entire queue (to have entire albums or playlists added to a queue) or Play only the selected song (to have only selected songs added to My songs).

Note: Even if you select Play only the selected song, tapping PLAY or SHUFFLE on an album or playlist screen will add all of its songs to a queue and not to My songs.

If you're using an older version of LINE MUSIC, refer to the following steps.

To change the queue your songs are added to (on versions of LINE MUSIC earlier than 6.6.0):

1. Tap Library > Settings.

2. Tap Playback settings > Queue Setting.

3. Under When a song is selected/How to play when a song is tapped, choose Play the entire queue (to have entire albums or playlists added to the Playlist queue) or Play only the selected song (to have single songs added to the Songs queue).

Note: Even if your queue is set to Play only the selected song, tapping PLAY or SHUFFLE on an album or playlist screen will add all of its songs to the Playlist queue.

You can save your favorite songs, albums, and playlists to play them offline without using data.

When you save a song, it will appear in Downloads. You can play these saved songs without worrying about your data usage.

Note:

- We recommend saving songs while using a Wi-Fi connection.

- You can only play regular downloaded songs offline if you have a ticket.

- The sale of Purchase Only songs ended on April 4, 2022.

You will not be able to save songs if your device doesn't have enough free space. To see how much space is being used by your songs in Downloads, follow the steps below.

1. Tap Library > Settings > Playback settings > Song quality and download.

2. Check the amount under Device Storage Usage.

You can set the amount of song data that can be saved to your device beforehand. To do so:

1. Tap Library > Settings > Playback settings > Song quality and download.

2. Turn Storage Space ON and set an amount.

Note: If the amount of song data saved to your device exceeds the limit you set, please change the limit.

Use one of the methods below to save songs to Downloads.

• To save a single song: Tap "..." at the top of the full player screen or to the right of a song title in a playlist > Download song.
• To save albums and playlists: Tap "..." at the top right of the details page for the relevant album/playlist > Download album or Download playlist.
Note:
- We recommend saving songs while using a Wi-Fi connection.
- You will not be able to save songs if your device doesn't have enough free space.

You can view your recently played songs by tapping the Home tab > Today tab. The Recently Played section is just below the top banner.

The criteria for songs shown in the Recently Played section are as follows:
• Songs: Any songs you've played at least once in the past three months (about 90 days).
• Order: Recently played songs are grouped by date, with the most recent at the top.
• Display limit: Up to 1,000 songs.

Be advised

- If you play the same song multiple times in a day, it appears only once in Recently Played.
- If you play the same song on different days, it appears under each date played.

You can check your play counts for songs you've played from the My Oshi and Charts screens in the LINE MUSIC app.

To check your play counts, see the following steps.

Useful info

- You cannot check play counts in LINE MUSIC for web browsers.
- Play counts for songs are reflected the day after you play them and are updated once daily at an undetermined time.
- Any songs that became unavailable due to the request of rights holders will be excluded from your play counts.

For an artist you've added to My Oshi

1. At the top of the Home screen, tap the My Oshi tab.
2. Open the screen for the artist whose songs you want to check your play counts for.
Note: For the steps to switch between which artist to display in My Oshi, see this Help article.
3. In the Level Of My Oshi section, check under "Your top recent songs" for your play counts.

For an artist you haven't added to My Oshi

1. Tap the Charts tab at the bottom of the screen.
2. Scroll down and check the songs in your Top 50 list.
Note: Your Top 50 list will appear with the display name set on the LINE account you log in to LINE MUSIC with shown before it.

If there's an issue with how your play counts are displayed, see this Help article.

Backup and Restore saves your downloaded songs list and queue data to the cloud service provided with your smartphone's OS. You can use it to restore your data when needed. It is available on LINE MUSIC version 6.14.0 and later.

To use Backup and Restore, you need to purchase a LINE MUSIC subscription plan, log in with LINE, and register your device to the LINE MUSIC app.

If you backed up your data in advance, you can restore it if you:

• Want to restore it when you've reinstalled the app after deleting it.

• Want to transfer the downloaded songs list and queues you used on your previous device after changing device models.

• Lose your data due to an unexpected error.

The cloud services used are:

• iCloud on iOS (Apple Account required).

• Google Drive on Android (Google account required).

Also, if you're using the same cloud service account, backup data for multiple devices may be saved together. You can also restore and use backed up data on another device by switching accounts.

Making a backup

Important:

- If you're using iOS, make sure you have iCloud turned on.

- You need to register your device to the LINE MUSIC app. To check if your device is registered to the LINE MUSIC app, in the app tap the Library tab > Settings > Manage device registration.

- Up to 20 backups (in order of most recent) can be maintained. If over 20 backups are made, the oldest data will be automatically deleted while the newest data will be saved. Backup data deleted automatically or manually cannot be restored, so be careful when using Automatic Backups.

• Manually backing up your data

To manually back up your downloaded songs list and queues:

1. Tap the Library tab > Settings > Backup and Restore.

2. Tap Backup Now.

If you're using an Android device, you can select the Google account you want to use Google Drive with.

If you're using an iOS device, the Apple Account you're logged in on your iPhone will be used.

• Automatically backing up your data

To have your downloaded songs list and queues automatically saved to the cloud:

1. Tap the Library tab > Settings > Backup and Restore.

2. Turn ON Automatic Backups.

If you turn on automatic backups, your data will be backed up automatically once a day when you open the app.

Restoring backup data

You can restore your downloaded songs list and queue data by selecting the backup data you want to restore. By selecting what to restore, you can choose to restore either your downloaded songs list or queues alone or both together.

Important:

- Be aware that if you restore your data, the songs you downloaded before restoring it will all be deleted.

- Songs that cannot be played due to legal rights issues will not be restored.

- Backup data is not saved to your device but rather to the cloud and can be restored on any device the same account is registered to. LINE MUSIC can be registered on up to 10 devices. On January 1 of each year, the number of devices you can register your account to is reset.

1. Tap the Library tab > Settings > Backup and Restore.

2. Tap Restore Backup Data.

3. Select which items to restore.

4. Select the backup data to restore.

Note: If there are multiple backups, select the data with the date and time you want to restore.

5. Tap Restore at the top right of the screen.

6. Tap Restore.

Note:

- To play songs in the downloaded songs list you restored, you need to download the songs again.

- We recommend downloading songs while using a Wi-Fi connection.

To delete your data backup history:

1. Open the LINE MUSIC app and tap the Library tab > Settings > Backup and Restore.

2. Tap Deleting Backup Data.

3. Select and delete individual backups from the list or tap Select all at the top right of the screen to delete all of them.
